Biography
James Choi has been at the forefront of dental technology since 2000, working alongside industry legends such as Ed McLaren, Michel Magne, and Don Cornell. In 2012, he earned the prestigious title of Certified Master Ceramist and shortly thereafter became the Dental Laboratory Director for the Master Ceramist Program at UCLA. In collaboration with Dr. Ed McLaren, James taught advanced refractory veneer techniques and all-ceramic lab workflows, guiding participants through comprehensive processes from diagnostics to final restorations. Under his leadership, the program consistently produced several Master Ceramists annually.
James also played a pivotal role in the development of the revolutionary MiYO liquid ceramic system, a game-changer in ceramic customization. He continues to utilize this innovation in his boutique dental laboratory in Illinois, USA. In 2022, James was honored as the first official Matisse instructor in the United States, solidifying his position as a leading educator in the field.
